Hello hello hello! How was your weekend? Relaxing and cozy?
Around here we had a 10th birthday party, some fall photo sessions, a few minutes of very casual, totally unstaged, very legitimate reading, a broken washing machine, and an amazing potato-onion soup that was a lot cozier than it sounds.
Not too shabby.
I absolutely love our barn cat hanging out next to the couch with me. She’s such a friendly little nugget.
A few things I’m really excited to share this week:
This lifesized skeleton that’s on crazy sale at Walmart and is so much fun to drive around with, or sit on your front porch (even before the rest of the fall decor goes up). We named ours Bony Tony and he’s a real gem.
These perfectly autumnal pumpkin pie bars from the Minimalist Baker site. Planning to make these this week, perfect for grabbing in between Zoom meetings or chores.
A fall mug I think we can all get behind (and how many times have you watched Hocus Pocus yet, hm?)
Its sister mug if you’re the gift-giving or mug-hoarding kind, and you don’t have to say which
A very spooky National Geographic round up of the most haunted locations in the US if you’re the ghost-hunting-from-your-couch type. I will add that growing up near Philly, Eastern State Penitentiary and it’s terrifying history (and annual haunted houses) will forever be one of the creepiest places to visit and I would never go there alone, or at night.
I hope you’re able to spend this season slowing down a bit, taking some leaf-collecting walks, and that if you’re spending your days trying to work through a mortgage refinance like we are, your coffee is strong and possibly flavored with the orangest, most revered of all the gourds (but guys, you can make them at home, too).
